Andrea Thomas Hill, Founder and Chair
Andrea Thomas Hill moved to Vancouver from Toronto in 1999. She has 20 years of experience in marketing communications, both in advertising agencies and for corporate clients. In 1992, Andrea organized the first Run For The Cure for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. After expanding the Run For The Cure across the country, Andrea later sat on the Board of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, BC Chapter for several years before shifting her attention to single mothers and children living in poverty in Vancouver. Andrea is married and mother of two children.
Kim Craig, Secretary
Kim Craig has parlayed 25 years of private-sector experience into her role as Secretary at Cause We Care. Her unique combination of expertise in children’s book publishing and real estate – plus fundraising for non-profits – brings with it a diverse, problem-solving skill set. Kimhas volunteered with various organizations supporting education, arts, and sciences. She was inspired to join Cause We Care to help affect real change in the lives of women and children living in poverty. Kim and her husband have been Vancouver residents since 2007. They have two children.
Tia Walsh, Treasurer
Tia Walsh is a Chartered Accountant with a Masters degree in accounting. She brings to our Board financial and accounting expertise derived from her 18 years in the accounting profession. Tia is a Partner at Walsh King LLP and has extensive expertise in working and volunteering with not-for-profit organizations. She recently finished a 6-year term as treasurer and director of the Contemporary Art Gallery in Vancouver. As a single professional woman with two children Tia is committed to the goals of Cause We Care.
Tanis Goldman, Outreach Services
Tanis Goldman brings marketing and development strategy expertise to bear on issues of Cause We Care’s community outreach and fundraising efforts. A lifelong believer in community participation, Tanis has volunteered with a number of charitable organizations. Her passion for women’s and children’s rights drive her commitment to Cause We Care, where she manages CWCF’s three annual supply drives. Tanis is married and has one child.
Vandana Varshney Lecky, Fundraising
Vandana Varshney Lecky was born, raised and educated in Vancouver. A Senior Investment Advisor at Canaccord Wealth Management for over 17 years, Vandana also gives back to the community and city she loves through her ongoing charitable efforts. She previously served on the Board of Endeavour Society for the Benefit of the Arts, Sciences and Health, and was a member of the 2008 Arts Umbrella Gala committee. She has been providing her fundraising expertise to Cause We Care Foundation since 2009. Vandana is married with three children and is committed to helping all mothers provide for themselves and their families.
Michelle Jankovich, Director
Michelle Jankovich has spent over 25 years working in finance, currently managing the Equity Capital Markets division for Haywood Securities Inc. She firmly believes that by addressing the systemic issues and challenges faced by women and children living in poverty in Vancouver, our own communities can provide hope to further positive change. Michelle has volunteered with a variety of local organizations. She is the mother of two teenage children.
Shannon Bosa Yacoub, Director
Shannon Bosa Yacoub is an entrepreneur with 15 years experience in the hospitality industry. Born and raised in Vancouver, Shannon has been an avid supporter of local charities. Since 2009, Shannon has organized the Table for 2000, which, together with Union Gospel Mission, feeds 2000 people from the downtown eastside each December. In 2010, with Shannon’s lead, the Glowbal Group added an annual summer barbeque that feeds 5000. She became involved with Cause We Care because it has the ability to make a direct and personal impact on women’s lives. Shannon is married and a mother of two children.
