Thank you to @Aritzia for providing gift cards for Thank you to @Aritzia for providing gift cards for their annual Warehouse Sale to recipients of our Single Mothers Support Fund grants.

The beginning of a new school year is always a stressful time for low income parents who have to ensure that their children have all the essential supplies they need to be successful, including clothing. And SMSF recipients are students themselves, so this was a perfect opportunity for them to find some quality pieces for their own back to school needs.

A thank you note from one of the recipients: "The sale came at the perfect time because classes started the following day and I was able to get essentials for school like a very nice pair of shoes and a couple of dresses and shirts for fall. The items I got gave me a very good confidence boost to start school with. Thank you so so much! "

This generous gift from Aritzia is reducing stress, meeting a need, and reminding single mothers that the community cares about them.
Today we are proud to introduce Fiona, a Single Mo Today we are proud to introduce Fiona, a Single Mothers Support Fund recipient who is currently working towards her Bachelor of Arts with a Major in Psychology at Capilano University.

Fiona received a grant from Cause We Care last September. As she heads back to school this week, she tells us: “The support from the Single Mothers Support Fund has not only eased my immediate financial worries but has also boosted my confidence and motivation. It's like a guiding light during challenging times, reassuring me that there are people who genuinely care about my journey as a single mother.

Pursuing the training and education made possible by the SMSF grant has been transformative. Not only have I gained valuable knowledge and skills that have expanded my career opportunities, but I've also experienced a shift in my outlook on life. It has given me the assurance that I can break free from the cycle of financial instability, provide a better life for my child, and be a role model for them.”

To our donors, Fiona says: “I want to express my eternal gratitude to all those who generously believed in our potential and offered me, and my son, this grant. Your support has touched our lives in ways we could have never imagined. With this blessing, we promise to make the most of it and give back to the world in whatever ways we can. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for this life-changing opportunity. Your kindness and belief in our potential will forever be etched in our hearts.”

BACK TO SCHOOL Cause We Care is proud to support BACK TO SCHOOL

Cause We Care is proud to support single mothers who have gone back to school through our Single Mothers Support Fund. To date, over 100 mothers have been supported with these grants. With a new school year starting, we are happy to share their inspiring stories. Here is Caitlin’s Story:

“In 2021, I left a rough situation and came to Vancouver with my two kids, who were aged 1 and 4 at the time. We took a bit of time to settle and, in September 2021, I began schooling for my Bachelor of Social Work. This grant has impacted my life HUGELY. It has allowed my children to participate in activities as well as access extra supports when needed. I do not have to stress about bills and finances and am able to work on my schooling and FOCUS. Because of that, after 2 years of general studies, I got into the program that I've been dreaming of and begin my Bachelor of Social Work studies next month. I have 2 years left, and I know that once this is all done, I will be in a much better place and be able to financially support us independently.

I also feel lucky to live at Cause We Care House which has helped me build relationships with other single mothers who have similar struggles. The housing has just been an amazing environment to raise my children.

I am forever grateful for Cause We Care and cannot wait until I’m in a position to pay it forward!”

We wish Caitlin and her two little ones good luck for the new school year and look forward to seeing them thrive.
