I started Turnabout in September 1978 with the idea that a second hand store could become a more accessible, luxury shopping environment for everyone. Built on offering great customer service with price points that make shopping affordable for those with limited incomes, we now operate 7 locations for profit and our Community Store, which was opened with the same sentiment. Today, we are able to partner with organizations like Cause We Care on fundraising account opportunities which involve generating donations from the profit from resale of clothing.
Oftentimes we see someone new, timidly walk into our stores, cautiously go to a rack and look at the items and the price tag. But when they see a more affordable price, their face changes, they relax and they are thrilled and happy to be able to shop. It’s wonderful to see that, and it's something that we take a lot of pride in.
I am passionate about supporting single moms and kids. I have always been able to support my three sons, and provide a great life for them. My husband has always been a supportive and active parent. My heart breaks for moms that can’t do the same. Since 2016, Turnabout has supported Cause We Care Foundation and the amazing work that they do to support single mothers. My belief has always been that fundraising with clothing donations can be a viable and constant source of funds that will make a real difference. Donating a few quality items is something that a lot of people can do, and the impact can be huge. With the fundraising accounts, we are so grateful to contribute to the work of Cause We Care and to creating a world where single mothers thrive.
Our whole team is proud of our affiliation with Cause We Care. It matters to us that we are not only working hard to find a sustainable path for every item we take in our stores, but that we are finding ways to give back to the community through the jobs that we do each day. Our team always strives to help our community look and feel their best, and by generating donations for organizations like Cause We Care we are constantly motivated and rewarded by the experience of giving back.
